FAQ

What is silver?
- Silver is a soft metallic element. It is highly valued for jewelry and other ornamental use.

What is sterling silver?
- Sterling silver denotes high quality as it is an alloy containing not less than 92.5 per cent of silver, the remainder usually being copper.

Why sterling silver is just 92.5% and not 99.9% silver?
- Sterling silver contains 92.5% silver only because 99.9% or pure silver would be too soft to stand up under constant wear. it is mixed with 7.5% copper to form an alloy before it is made into commercial articles.

Will the color of silver jewelry tarnish?
- Sterling silver remains as beautiful as it is for a long period of time. However, since your jewelry is exposed to air and pollution, it will become antique-looking or will lack luster. Thus it is necessary to clean your silver jewelry periodically.

What are the ways on how to clean a sterling silver jewelry?
- You can use a silver jewelry cleaner

- Put on a paste of baking soda and water. Rub gently and then rinse with water and then polish dry with a soft cloth.

- You can also use toothpaste to clean off tarnish. Coat the silver with toothpaste, then run it under warm water, and work it into a foam. Rinse off. For stubborn stains or where there is a lot of hard to reach places, use a soft toothbrush.
